I can't just listen to Aberdeen Blues once.  I can't just listen to it twice.  If I play that song,, I have to repeat it so many times, it becomes a problem. It almost derailed this whole project, because I only want to listen to Bukka White. The fierce driving of his voice, his guitar, it is encapsulating. The spirit is so tangible, I think that's what compels me the most.

Aberdeen Blues lyrics follow some of the classic blues motif's - small town, on your way to somewhere else.  ("I was over in Aberdeen on my way to New Orleans")  And of course, women. Pretty women. ("Well, I believe them Aberdeen women gonna make me lose my mind."

According to Wikipedia, Mr. White met Lomax while serving time for assault.
